There are usually two intakes for UK institutions:
September and January:
At the same time the students should now keep this in mind that admissions are now available through out the year as many of the colleges and universities they have bridging courses e.g. Foundation Courses and Pre-Master Courses. Also, there are many education providers in the U.K which offer students diploma, certificate and degree courses around the year.
Australia
In Australia there are two intakes but the student can join professional and academic diploma programmes around the year.
Germany
It has two intakes January and September and the admission process is started well in advance.
